I’m an artist and I write though I never make any money writing! I live sunny, Deming, New Mexico, where I enjoy, every day, walking in miles of open desert. I travel the country with my husband, who’s work keeps him on the road a good portion of the year. I spend time working in New Mexico, Michigan, Seattle and California. Tt’s quite a wild ride but one that I love.
We’re building our off-the-grid life and loving it.
Katie, I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs. Your runs miles blog is now protected, is that a bug or is it only for authorized readers? I miss catching up on your journey. Thanks for the recommendation about Chi Running, I’m out from running for awhile but I look forward to implementing it next summer.

We almost bought a house last year in Deming. It was a long ride down to see the house, but I got to see some beautiful country there. We ended up purchasing a house in Los Lunas, NM where we started homesteading last year.
I’ve been trying to connect with as many other homesteaders as possible. I have to comb Google with a fine tooth comb to find everyone. LOL
You guys rock!! I just read all your entries on “RANCHO MANANA” and found a wealth of knowledge. I recently bought 5 acres in Deming New Mexico 30 miles out near akela flats and you guys have done exactly what I had planned to do! it would be so cool to meet you guys and pick your brains on some things. Hit me up when your in Deming have your people call my people we can do lunch lol . keep up the good work and the blog.
